Swimming In Speakers
Swimming In Speakers ep
2008

“Swimming in Speakers” is the music of self-taught multi-instrumentalist Christopher Clarke and lead vocalist Meadow Eliz. These two native upstate New Yorkers had only been collaborating together for three months before self-releasing their eponymous EP in late March, 2009. The snowy, subzero climate of Saranac Lake, New York, lent itself well to winter days spent creating and recording in Chrisʼs home studio, where they crafted the songs for their debut EP armed with a Casio, a laptop and a hodge-podge of analog equipment.

This brand new band has been wooing music bloggers, indie radio stations, podcasters, and fans all over the world with their charming and masterful blend of electro-acoustic synth pop. Meadow Eliz has a voice that is instant heroin. Add everything (but the kitchen sink) that Clarke throws into each tune, and the tracks are ace. The phenomenal chemistry these two share is evidenced by the fact that the first two verses of “Serve Them Well” were done on very first take. Due to the strength of such material, their local NPR station NCPR granted access to their state-of-the-art studio for additional recording.”
