From it’s punchy off beat opening with *‘The Red Room’*, through to the combo’s take on a ballad with *‘That’s All’*, ‘The Greats And The Happenings’ invitingly seduces you into the quirky synth driven microcosm of a band on the edge of great things. Traversing a veritable buffet of genres, highlights including the aforementioned single ‘Whole World On Its Head’, the frenetic live favourite *‘White Lies’ *and *‘Latin Holiday’*; a whirlwind of tuneful handclaps and atmospheric electronic swirls weaving through a sing-along chant chorus. All in all, surely one of the most interesting and innovative debuts to be released this year.
